Humour at Southend
The programmers of Southend have a special event every Wednesday they call an “Onsdagsfika”. On this joyful celebration the programmers gather around to eat cake, drink coffee and play Frank Sinatras “The coffee song” really loud so other people in the surroundings won’t miss that something is going on.
This little ritual is of course really fascinating for us non-programmers, so sometimes we hide in the bushes and trees beside the programmer room to quietly observe them and their ancient rites until they feel sorry for us and invite us in.
Ah yes, it’s truly a fantastic experience. For a taste of what it’s like, try this.
Fill a mug with coffee, bake some kind of pastry (or buy it if you are lazy), get an old gramophone and a record containing Frank Sinatras “Coffee song” (or use Youtube or Spotify like we do, it’s a lot easier!).
Put on the music, close your eyes, have a sip of the coffee, eat cake and enjoy your “Onsdagsfika”!

“This game looks like complete garbage tho, I couldn’t believe the whole idea of the puzzle was to unite 2 fruits. Usually someone is statically trapped or you are stuck somewhere trying to reach a destination. But this game has these two faggot looking pills stuck in the shittiest map design i’ve ever seen in my life. What’s their marketing here? to change the camera so you can see around areas the camera is blocking? You mean in real life like moving side to side to look around something? This idea is shit”

Another ilomilo article from Pax! This time from Kotaku.
“Giant Bomb’s Brad Shoemaker and I each took an Xbox 360 controller in hand at the Microsoft booth at PAX East and tried our best to understand Ilomilo, a puzzle game involving two characters who need to walk across tricky terrain in order to stand next to each other.”
Thunderbolt stumbled upon ilomilo at PAX and wrote a neat preview of it.
“Admittedly iloimilo was already somewhat on my radar before checking it out at PAX, but seeing it in motion really drew me into playing it. At this stage it’s beautiful, fun and remarkably intuitive to play, simply put, it was the most fun I had with a title at PAX this year. ilomilo drops into XBLA – as well as our hearts – later this year.”
IGN and 4playerpodcast played some ilomilo at the Penny Arcade Expo and here’s what they had to say about it:
“This gorgeous-looking puzzle game caught the eye of several bystanders while I sat by the kiosk, dragging them away from the more prominent Microsoft games so they can find out what the hell this adorable looking game is all about.”
